Hey kids,

A few days ago, my good friend Judah Thor sent me links to a contest redesigning the Polish edition of your favorite book — Also, wow!, Poland’s sense of design is so weird, not bad, but vastly different from ours. — as well as a link to a site that redesigns movie posters.

It was with the latter in mind, that I woke up yesterday morning and pumped out my take on the poster to one of my favorite movies, High Fidelity. What do you guys think?

I really liked working on this piece and think I might try my hand at a few more. Any movie posters you’d like to see redesigned?

Hey kids,

You can now read Jim Rugg’s fantastic Eisner-nominated Afrodisiac for FREE over at the Adhouse Books site!

The actual book is currently between printings and sold out in stores and online but, once the next print run starts, you should totally go buy a copy! It is one of the most fun comics I have ever read!

“I’m already rock hard, baby!”

Hey kids,

A few weeks ago, my good friend Justin Shady used the top portion of an old photo my my Pop Pop and I — highlighting how awesome my Pop Pop was — as his blog header for the month of March.

Well, I just discovered today that Justin also used the bottom portion of the photo — y’know, the part that highlights how amazingly cute I am — as his blog header for the month of April!

(Ladies, you may begin commenting on how amazingly cute I am.)

Thanks, Shady! It’s an incredibly awkward honor to grace the header of The Blarg.

Hey kids,

So I started getting some pages in, from the Amazing David Brame, for this educational comic about abusive Canadian teen relationships — yes, seriously — that we were hired to create. As I was looking through the pages, mentally laying out where I was going to place word balloons and whatnot, I noticed something kinda awesome on the fourth page.

Dave and I make cameos in the top panel!

I love when Dave throws us into the background of the comics he’s drawing!

See you in the not-so-funny pages,

Frankie

Hey kids,

So I know that this has been up and around the internet for almost a week now and that — in this day and age — that makes it positively ancient, but I finally had the time to watch it last night and it is fucking glorious.

I give to you Tim Minchin’s Storm.

Reminds me so much of Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip.

…you’ll be able to find me tomorrow — Sunday, April 3rd — at Gem City Comic Con, in lovely Dayton, OH. I’ll have copies of Punch-Up and Skottie Rocket for sale, so come on down and say hi!
