Hey kids,
Long time, no blog. Amirite?
Sorry I’ve been so uncharacteristically quiet lately. I’ve been hiding out in the Fortress of Frankitude, working my way through new comic ideas and a steady pile of freelance work. I’ve got a TON of new things in the works and I can’t wait until I can share them with you!
(Unfortunately, I can’t show most of it to you yet. Be patient!)
But fear not!
I’m not going to tease you with the promise of new arty farty goodness and not show you anything.
This is a stipple I was commissioned to do by my friend Sam as a gift for his lady.

It’s a 5″ x 7″ stipple, done on watercolor paper with a Micron Pen and took roughly 30 hours to complete.
As a bonus gift, I also drew up something that Sam’s been after me for years to do for him; a portrait of one of his favorite musicians, The Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.

This piece is roughly 7″ x 7″, done on watercolor paper with a light black watercolor wash and inked with — my favorite new toy — a Pentel Brush Pen, and was completed in under three hours.
Sam’s kind of lucky that he’s been asking for this piece for a while, because I was pretty happy with the way it turned out and had a hard time parting with it.
Anyway, keep your eyes here for more updates and new arts. And, as always, if you’d like to commission me, just drop me a line.

Thank you! It was a new approach for me, but I’m really happy with the way it turned out. Gonna have to play around with that style a little more.

Ha! I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve ever been told that I possess any sort of “prowess.”
